About · Since 2016
Named after the toughest plant in the foothills
Mallow ninebark grows all over the hills above Boise. It’s not much to look at, but the roots go deep and it holds a hillside together for decades. Dale hikes past it every weekend. In 2016 he needed a name for a one-man electrical company, and that plant was the idea he wanted to build the business around.
From apprentice to owner
Dale Hutchins started pulling wire as an apprentice in 1998. He spent about fifteen years at one of the bigger commercial shops in the Valley, the last six running crews, where a failed inspection cost real money. He earned his master electrician license and got tired of being a number on somebody’s org chart. In 2016 he bought a used van, painted it green, and started answering his own phone.
The idea was simple. Do residential work to commercial standards, and be straight about what it costs. Show up when you said you would. That’s still how the company runs.
The crew
Today that’s Dale, four journeyman electricians, an apprentice two years into his hours, and Renae Hutchins. Renae runs the office and the schedule.
No staff photos on the site. The crew took a vote and voted no, so that’s that. Fuse the shop dog is the exception.
Every electrician is background-checked and drug-tested and carries a license card. Ask to see it at the door if you want. That’s fine with us.

How we work
The four standing rules
01
The price comes first
You get it in writing before we start, and we don’t keep the clock running while we track down a part.
02
We show up on time
A two-hour arrival window, confirmed the day before, with a call when we’re 30 minutes out. If we’re late, your diagnostic is free.
03
We clean up
Panels get labeled, walls get patched, and we leave the floors the way we found them.
04
We don’t sell fear
If something’s dangerous, we’ll tell you plainly and show you why. If it can wait, we’ll tell you that too.
Licensed, bonded, insured
Ninebark Electric LLC is a licensed Idaho electrical contractor, registered with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL). We carry insurance to Idaho’s $300,000 contractor liability standard. Our license number is ELE-C-27431.
Every job that needs a permit gets one. Our workmanship carries a two-year warranty, in writing, on your invoice.
Where we work
Based in Boise, serving the Treasure Valley
We’re on the Garden City side of the river, and we come to you. The shop is really just vans and wire, so there’s no showroom to visit.
